Utomi: This Struggle is Now My Life

After reading Pat Utomi’s after election intentions, I’m encouraged.

“As we reflect on dozens of lives lost in protest of election rigging, billions of Naira expended on campaigns even as many of our compatriots are dehumanized by dreadful poverty, it is important to extend gratitude, and commit afresh to the struggle on the long road to freedom for Nigeria”

Such words differentiate men wanting to change Nigeria and men wanting to milk Nigeria of her wealth.

This is why we have hope…

i read that pat utomi’s write up and it was beautiful.Such a shame he didnt win but at least he fought with honor and intergrity.We cant say the same for the others.GOdknows best

Pat Utomi tried, but like those before him, who had what it takes to rule this country, but could not get there, his failure at the poll does not surprise me. Truth be told, whoever that is serious of riding this country must fight from within, just like the likes of Ribadu, El-Rufai, Iweala, Akunyili and of course Ezekwesili are doing, by dining with the ruling party.

Reading his words gives everyone hope that we can affect change. I do not believe that Nigerians will accept another election such as the one we have just witnessed - at least let us hope it will never happen this way again.
