Size isn’t enough, Nigeria is a failed giant
The Economist has a there page article on the Nigerian elections, echoes the same outcry I’m sure you have all read about our flawed elections.
“It is totally false to suggest that Nigerians are fundamentally different from any other people in the world. Nigerians are corrupt because the system under which they live today makes corruption easy and profitable; they will cease to be corrupt when corruption is made difficult and inconvenient. The trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership.”
24years ago, Chinua Achebe, one of Nigeria’s greatest writer said this, today Nigeria is still a failed giant, but we have hope….

The recent election was yet another opportunity for us to prove that something good can still come out of our country but as usual we bungled it.
More than ever before things are really fallen apart and we can only shout Cry beloved country…
I think it is fundamentally true that we are different from other people in the world, still think we are the most unique specie in the world.
Corruption is a big issue, but I dont the bunch of illerates in that country can change it, who is going to change it then? Dont ask me, you already know who.
When your clothes are dirty, you wash them with water. But when the water you will use to wash your clothes is dirty, what are you going to do? The country, Nigeria, has been polluted by Nigerians. A country where the Governors will appoint who will be the next Governors of their states. A country where the President will handpick who will replace him; whether the people like it or not. So, why conduct an election in that country? The word “FAIR” does not exist in Nigerian elections. The solution to our problems, I hate to suggest, is for God to send a Military Dictator who will instill discipline to Nigerian rulers, both past and present, and then to Nigerians.
This is directed at you chirs (Texas USA), trust me mate, military dictator is the last on the list that we need.
Not directed at anybody in particular, but it shocks me to see the fortunate Nigerians that have gone abroad and have learnt how the UK, USA and the rest run the country and the Nigerians cannot be bothered to go back home to make a change, but they are all quick to slay the country.
Obviously somebody(or loads of people)might need to die first though, lol.
I really dont whether Nigeria development is a close chapter or just an unwritten section of a book in history.
A country has to meet certain level of discipline to be able to sustain true democratic society. Considering the level of lawlessness, dishonesty and corruption in Nigeria today, I cannot vouch that the country is ready for true democracy to take root. The conscience of the nation has to be shocked by somebody who is ready to change the template on how the country is governed. It might not sound palatable, I do not believe that any civilian regime is equal to the task. Nigeria has a better chance with a God sent Military Dictator.
Nigeria lost it right from day 1 of the post-colonial era and has continued to loose it to date…with recycled enemies of progress i.e. occult powers/principalities thuggery occupying the relms of power divine intervention will most certainly be the only solution to dark but potential nation like nigeria!
