But isn’t expecting nothin, expecting something?? Or rather redundant?? This is where my literature lessons wudda paid but I was never one to pay attention!

“Ye, and blessed is he who was not born, for he shall never die, neither shall ever have to choose whether to have expectations or not!”

hmmm, maybe rewrite as ‘blessed is he that does not expect…’? anyhow, if you don’t expect, you won’t be disappointed, but then you’ll never know the exhiliration of having expected…someone else once said, ‘don’t love, not even a dog, guard your heart, keep it in all sorts of little things and amusements, never set it free; the only thing worse that loving is not attempting to love.’

i’m sure Pope was being (here goes literature class!) ironic, sarcastic, and satirical all @ the same time ;)

The guys prob creasing in his graeve over how some silly thing as a saying cud cause so much confusion! No suprise how this one didnt make it to the beatitudes! It aint too late to come up wid mine:

Blessed is he who thirsts in a dessert for he shall NEVER be satisfied!

Guess mine took a dark turn!

i think it’d be more appropriate if you expected ‘anything’ expecting nothing…and getting something might just be a bad thing…
as much of a zinger that quote is…lol it can still be contested..hehe

so simple, yet so hard for humans to do?

Remi — May 27th, 2004 at 11am

Got to add my quote;
“Blessed is Alexander Pope, for he has caused much fuss on my site.”

Oh yeah no doubt alota paraphrasing was done cos i aint too much of a fan to remember word for blimmin word!

Seun Osewa June 18th, 2004 at 10pm

Phoenix,
To ‘unbake’ the cookie you only need to clear cookies in your browser. It’s probably too late by now!
