ADEREMI'S NOTEBOOK

Class C (7)

The debate to legalise cannabis in the UK has been going on for sometime. Cannabis was been downgraded from Class B to C, which means police will no longer automatically arrest those caught in possession of it. Although I have not smoked it before, I once attempted in invest in GW Pharma, a company that actually produces the cannibis for medical use ofcourse - lets just say I was not impressed with their business model. However I came across a website promoting the legalisation of the Cannabis and are apparently organising a protest on the 8th May 2004 in London. As I reading through the site, I found a few things.

Cannabis is a substance which affects the way you think and feel. Sometimes you’ll enjoy the experience and sometimes you wont.

…Cannabis does not suit everyone. It may make you feel sleepy, lethargic or paranoid. For a very few individuals it may have more serious consequences and we urge you to read our section on cannabis effects and to do a thorough search on Google before deciding to experiment.

Surely we don’t really want to legalise something that has such harmful, ok sleepy is ok but paranoid.

Smoking cannabis releases substances like tar and carbon monoxide which are harmful to your health.

This is interesting because in the Cannabis introduction, it states that “The health risks are undoubtedly fewer than with alcohol or tobacco”.

Never buy cannabis from the street. Try to find someone you trust, if you can’t trust them don’t buy it. Chances are you’ll be ripped off anyway.

So I suppose Tesco should be next stop.

Another thing is how they chose to use quotes all over the site from famous highly regarded individuals (mostly) to substantiate their position. Overall good site for information on cannabis.

However I have managed to fall behind and my exams approaching have not really helped. I don’t really have an excuse for falling behind. I hope I will be able to achieve the challange I set ahead myself soon.

Here is a list of the Purpose Driven life bloggers.

Nigerian Astronaut needs funds (2)

If there has been anytime Nigeria would need you - this is got to be it. [via Seun]

… Air Force Major Abacha Tunde. He was the first African in space when he made a secret flight to the Salyut 6 space station in 1979. He was on a later Soviet spaceflight, Soyuz T-16Z to the secret Soviet military space station Salyut 8T in 1989. He was stranded there in 1990 when the Soviet Union was dissolved. His other Soviet crew members returned to earth on the Soyuz T-16Z, but his place was taken up by return cargo. There have been occasional Progrez supply flights to keep him going since that time. He is in good humor, but wants to come home.

Please chill before you reach for your credit cards. This is one of those Advanced Fee Fraudsters’ emails. First of all a visit to NASRDA shows the site is down but a cache of the site is visible on google. Like The Register, I doubt this email was composed by a nigerian.
